By preparing a Living Will, you can protect your family and loved ones from the anguish that arises when a patient's wishes aren't known. In such situations, a physician will most often favor rather than withhold treatment. Some of these cases can end up in the courts and cause long, costly, heartbreaking ordeals for family members and health care providers alike. In addition, the cost of both proven and experimental medical treatments used to sustain life can pose undue hardship on those responsible for payment, especially in cases involving serious irreversible illness or conditions. The way to protect and relieve your family and friends of some of the emotional strain and burden involved in making difficult end-of-life decisions is to speak to us about preparing a Living Will.
