Robert A. Bernstein
Robert A. Bernstein, Esq., has been practicing law for over 35 years and was admitted to the New Jersey State Bar in 1969 and thereafter to the Bar of the State of New York in 1983.
Mr. Bernstein focuses his practice in the areas of Elder Law, Estate Planning, Estate Administration, Special Needs Planning, Guardianship, LGBT Estate Planning, Business and Real Estate Law.
Mr. Bernstein received his Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University in 1966 and was awarded his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Rutgers University School of Law in 1969.
Mr. Bernstein is a former Deputy Attorney General for the State of New Jersey where he represented the Division of Taxation.
He is a frequent lecturer and has given presentations before such diverse groups as the New Jersey Institute of Continuing Legal Education, Morris County Caregivers Coalition, New Jersey Society of CPAs - Essex County Chapter, Smith Barney, and Sanofi Aventis Pharmaceuticals.
He is admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court, the United Court for the District of New Jersey, and the New Jersey Supreme Court.
He was the former host and moderator of the Comcast Cable television program entitled “Thirty Legal Minutes”.
Mr. Bernstein is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, and a member of the Elder Law and Disability Section and Trusts and Estate Section of the New Jersey State bar Association.
He has acted as host and producer of a cable television program entitled “30 Legal Minutes” which was also broadcast on Comcast Network and Communities Cable.
He is also a former legal columnist of a national magazine “Small Business Opportunities”. His name is also cited in two landmark legal decisions which have been published in the New Jersey law books.
Bernstein Estate Law is pleased to announce that Walter Stringer, Esq. has joined our firm as Of Counsel. Mr. Stringer has been practicing law for over 10 years and is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Warren County Bar Association, and is an affiliate member with the North Central New Jersey Association of Realtors.
Mr. Stringer brings to the firm his extensive experience in Residential and Commercial Real Estate Transactions and will be incorporating this experience with the firm’s Elder Law, Trust and Estate Planning, and Special Needs Practice.
Mr. Stringer will utilize his expertise to expand the LGBTQ legal practice of the firm with respect to Estate Planning and Elder Law. Mr. Stringer, as an openly gay attorney, understands the legal issues faced by Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender individuals and same sex couples and will continue to firm’s efforts to provide guidance and security to LGBTQ individuals.
